Rowan Shaw

Combining her love of people, with her love for print is ultimately what underpins Rowan’s practice at the Caraboo studios and beyond.  Following a degree in print design, and a stint as a print technician at University of the Arts, London – a move to Kyoto between 2015 – 2017 to learn traditional Japanese woodblock printing and research social welfare facilities using art as their core daily activity, helped crystallise her aims as an artist and designer.  Rowan currently works for charity in Fishponds, Bristol, for adults with learning difficulties, delivering art sessions and developing printing methods that are accessible, inclusive, meaningful and fun!  As a Caraboo studio occupant, and co-founder, she is excited to expand upon the network of people she works with and learn through all the exciting collaborations encountered.
