Watching Limbo

Watching Limbo is the first exhibition launching a new artist collective and exhibition space in Bedminster, Bristol. The exhibition will unpack animation as both craft and concept, whilst taking a playful approach to exploring its emotional, durational and physical possibilities. The exhibition features a group of artists from around the UK bringing new and recent work to Bristol.

Animation can be defined as bringing something artificial to life. Whereas once this suspension of disbelief was limited to the realm of celluloid, our relationship with screen based media increasingly defines us as social creatures and the relationship between a life lived and a life captured is blurred. This exhibition probes connections between print and screen, digital and virtual environments, whilst elements of the bodily, the tangible and the visceral punctuate the works on show.
